Derk Maat is the Chief Executive Officer of GPEC Global, an independent power producer that transforms waste into a renewable source of energy. He has 35 years of engineering and corporate management expertise in applying a wide range of environmental technologies to solid waste and wastewater management, bio-remediation and large scale engineering projects. Derk has developed environmental and financially feasible solutions for waste conversions of biomass from agriculture, the pulp and paper industry, industrial and municipal refuse into saleable commodities, electricity, ethanol and plastic products. With his wife, Annita, Derk is leading the TransformationCANADA Task Force to enjoin pulpit and marketplace leaders in a movement to see Canada changed for the better. In addition, Derk chairs Transformation Canada, the Canadian arm of Harvest Evangelism. They have three grown children and reside in Ontario, Canada.
